What is 1100 Aluminium alloy used for?
Aluminum 1100 can be shaped into many different products, including chemical equipment, railroad tank cars, fin stock, dials, name plates, cooking utensils, rivets, reflectors and sheet metal. The plumbing and lighting industries also use aluminum 1100, as do a wide variety of other industries.
What type of aluminum is 1100?
1100-H14 aluminum is usually what is meant by "commercial grade aluminum". It is known for its superior corrosion resistance, formability, conductivity, and high weldability. It is not used in applications that require high strength or hardness. 1100 is nonmagmetic, weldable, and not heat treatable.
Can you weld 1100 aluminum?
Alloy 1100 is highly resistant to chemical attack and weathering. It is a relatively soft alloy that is very formable and is used extensively in thin gauge and foil products. It has good welding characteristics and it is also used as a filler alloy for welding purposes.
Can 1100 aluminum be extruded?
1100 aluminum – 1100 aluminum is soft and has virtually no added ingredients. It cannot be heat treated, but can be extruded into complex shapes while maintaining a bright finish.
